Company Highlights Upcoming TV Milestone With Integrated Marketing Campaign
NEW YORK, February, 2006 - 4Kids Entertainment, Inc., (NYSE: KDE), a global provider of children's entertainment and merchandise licensing, announced today that the 100th episode of the popular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series is scheduled to debut March 25, 2006 on 4Kids TV, the company's four hours of children's programming broadcast Saturday mornings on FOX.
In anticipation of the Turtles 100th episode, 4Kids Entertainment has rolled out a comprehensive marketing and promotional campaign through online, broadcast and print media. Fans can visit the web (www.TMNT100.tv) for an interactive countdown to the premiere date, as well as daily Turtles trivia, games and more.
"The 100th episode of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a major industry milestone," said Alfred R. Kahn, Chairman and CEO of 4Kids Entertainment.
"The Turtles are exciting, popular characters who have maintained strong brand appeal for more than 20 years. We are excited to celebrate this landmark television event with Turtles fans nationwide as we kick off our integrated marketing campaign."
Additional promotional support will include an extensive retail tie-in with master toy licensee Playmates Toys, in which approximately 250,000 packages of the new Paleo Patrol prehistoric action figures will feature sticker bursts calling out the TMNT 100th Episode Celebration Sweepstakes and an exclusive Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles DVD with never-before-seen episodes. These new toys are expected to be available at major retailers, including Wal-Mart, Toys 'R' Us, K-Mart, Target and KB Toys, in March.
In the 100th episode of the show, Casey and April, friends of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, find themselves Turtle-sitting what appears to be a very ill Donatello. However, they soon learn that Don isn't merely sick; he's actually in the final stages of a secondary mutation that will transform him into a savage beast... with an appetite for Turtle-sitters!
